Alumni Spotlight: Tomahawks at the NCAA Division I Level

Here is a look at how former Tomahawks players are competing at the NCAA Division I level.

 

Shane Bednard (Bowling Green)

            Bednard picked up an assist in the Falcons 4-4 tie with Michigan Tech. He has registered seven assists in 21 games for Bowling Green.

Cody Gylling (Arizona State)

            Through 23 games with the Sun Devils, Gylling has three goals and three assists.

Casey Nelson (Minnesota State-Mankato)

            Nelson picked up a three-point weekend against St. Cloud State and the University of Minnesota. He has emerged as a top defenseman with the Mavericks and has posted four goals and 16 assists for Mankato this season. In December, the blueliner was mention by TSN's Bob McKenzie as a college hockey prospect generating the most interest from the NHL.

Trevor Recktenwald (Ferris State)

            The Pittsburgh area native has three points (two goals and one assist) in 10 games for the Bulldogs. Recktenwald’s last goal came against Harvard, a 7-3 loss for Ferris State.

Cody Boyd (Canisius College)

            Boyd has played seven games for the Griffins, registering five shots on goal during that span. The Griffins visit Bentley Feb. 12 and 13.

Alex Jaeckle (Canisius College)

            A two-year Tomahawks blueliner, Jaeckle has suited up for nine games with Canisius, throwing four shots on net.

Tanner Barnes (University of Wisconsin)

            Barnes has yet to appear in a game for the Badgers, who host Michigan Feb. 12 and 13.
