Bednard Named NAHL North Division Star of the Week

Nov 10, 2013

Johnstown Tomahawks forward Shane Bednard has been named the NAHL North Division Star of the Week for the week of November 11. Bednard had three goals and two assists, helping the Tomahawks sweep the Springfield Jr. Blues this past weekend.

The Macomb, MI native has scored nine points (5-4-9) in his last five games, and is currently third on the team in points, goals and shots. He is tied with Brandon Reinholz for the team lead with two game-winning goals this season.

A four point performance earned Brandon Reinholz an honorable mention for this week’s star of the week award. Reinholz had three points in the Tomahawks 6-5 win over the Jr. Blues on Saturday night.

This is the fourth time this season that a Tomahawks player has earned the North Division Star of the Week award. The previous recipients were Joe Drabin (9/23), Alex Okicki (9/30) and Omar Mullan (10/7).

The Tomahawks welcome the Wenatchee Wild to the War Memorial this Friday and Saturday. Game times are 7:30 p.m. on Friday and 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, visit www.johnstowntomahawks.com or call 814-536-GOAL (4625).
