Ferland Shuts the Door on Tomahawks

Apr 16, 2017

JOHNSTOWN The New Jersey Titans shut out the Johnstown Tomahawks in Game Two of the East Division Semi-Finals Saturday night at the War Memorial Arena.

Much like the night before, the Tomahawks and Titans skated to a scoreless first period as New Jersey held the advantage in shots 10-9.

The physicality ramped up in the second period as both teams attempted to score the game’s first goal.

New Jersey would break the scoreless tie at the 9:28 mark of the second period when Nick Boyagian fired a puck past goaltender Drew Hotte for his second of the post-season and a 1-0 lead.

Johnstown went to work generating plenty of chances on Titans goaltender Ryan Ferland, but the first year NAHL netminder shut the door.

Ferland stopped all 34 Tomahawks shots on goal en route to his second victory of the playoffs.

The Tomahawks will head to New Jersey for Game Three on Friday, April 21 at 7:45 p.m.
