Hello everyone! Sadly, today is the last day of my internship with the Tomahawks, so I wanted to take this opportunity to share some of my experiences during my time here. I’ve had a great time working with the Tomahawks this summer! It has truly been a wonderful experience and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity.
Throughout my time here, I have had the chance to write stories and even work on some marketing materials. I even had the opportunity to write my own marketing plan. I truly learned a lot that will only help me later down the road when looking for a job in my field.
Along with that though, I got to experience Main Camp just last weekend which is something I wouldn’t have had the chance to do otherwise. I had a great time watching all of the action and learning more about what Coaches Mike and Nick look for when selecting players. Although I gave up quite a bit of sleep, I am glad that I got to be there and wouldn’t trade the experience for anything.
Working with the Tomahawks has definitely made my summer a little more interesting. One of the best days was definitely the day that four baby ducks were found roaming around outside. Paul built them a little pool and they got to spend the afternoon swimming around in the office before they were taken to a duck pond. I don’t think that many other people can say they got to hang out with ducklings during their internship.
I’m so glad that I was given the chance to spend part of my summer as an intern with the Tomahawks and I am sad to go. I appreciate being given the chance to learn and work with everyone here. I never saw my internship as just another step to getting my degree. I wanted to use it to learn more about something I was interested in and I definitely think I accomplished that during my time here.
Thank you to Mike Gosnell for giving me this opportunity and to everyone in the office for being so nice and welcoming.
Good luck to the Johnstown Tomahawks this season!
