Game Preview: Johnstown vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

With just six home games remaining in the regular season, the Johnstown Tomahawks return home this weekend to take on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights.

The Tomahawks and Knights have battled 12 times this season, with Johnstown taking eight of the meetings. The Tomahawks also took the most recent meeting, a 6-3 victory last Friday at Revolution Ice Centre.

In the last meeting, the Tomahawks jumped out to a 4-0 lead, thanks to first period goals by Anthony Parrucci, Luke Lynch, Brendan Jaquay and Andrew Romano.

The Knights pulled back within two, as Zed Dietrich and Matt Beranek scored in the second period. They made it a 4-3 game, as Stephen Kelly scored 11:57 into the third period.

The Tomahawks pulled away for good late, thanks to empty net goals by Dante Suffredini and Zak Galambos. Andrew Lindgren earned the win, stopping 39 of 42 shots.

Luke Lynch leads the Tomahawks with 18 points (10 goals, 8 assists) in 11 games against the Knights, while Andrew Romano leads the Tomahawks with nine assists against the Knights. Goaltender Andrew Lindgren has four wins against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this weekend.

Tanner Bennett leads the Knights with 11 points (two goals, nine assists) against the Tomahawks, while goaltender Grant Valentine has three wins, including one shutout, against Johnstown.

After this weekend, the teams will meet two more times, closing out the regular season at the War Memorial April 1 and 2.
