Tonight, the Tomahawks take on the Aston Rebels for the first time in the regular season. The Tomahawks and Rebels split a pair of pre-season games, with the Rebels taking the first game in Aston and the Tomahawks taking the finale in Greensburg.

Johnstown and Aston meet 16 times this season, with the Rebels hosting the first three meetings. The Tomahawks host the Rebels for the first time at the War Memorial Nov. 27 and 28.

The Tomahawks look to continue the success they had at the North American Hockey League Showcase, where they went 3-1-0. The Tomahawks defeated Brookings, Corpus Christi and Coulee Region, before dropping their showcase finale to Lone Star.

Alex Alger leads the Tomahawks with seven points (three goals, four assists), including five points in the last five games. Forward and Eastern Pennsylvania native Andrew Romano also has four assists in the last five games.

The Rebels enter this weekend after going 1-3 at the showcase. Aston is currently four points behind the Tomahawks for second place in the East Division and three points ahead of fourth place Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Defenseman Gvido Jansons leads the Rebels with six points (one goal, five assists). Jansons has scored at least a point in the last five games, including a pair of assists in a 3-2 win over Amarillo last Saturday.

The Tomahawks open their 2015-16 home schedule Friday October 16 against the New Jersey Titans at 7 p.m. Hockey Hall of Famer and National Hockey League legend Bobby Hull appear at the home opener to drop the puck and meet fans.
