Gorsuch Leads Warriors to 3-1 Victory Against Tomahawks

Johnstown, PA — Trevor Gorsuch stopped 46 of 47 shots as the Michigan Warriors outlasted the Johnstown Tomahawks for a 3-1 victory Friday night at the War Memorial Arena.

Gorsuch is 4-0-0 this season with a .963 save percentage and a 1.22 GAA against the Tomahawks (18-13-9).

The deciding goal came 11:50 into the third period when AJ Marcinek danced around a pile of players in front of the crease and wristed the puck past Chris Truehl’s blocker to give Michigan (14-20-5) the 2-1 lead.

Jordan Watt started off the scoring on the power play 10:19 into the first when he took a shot from the top of the right circle and put it short side to give the Tomahawks a 1-0 lead. Mitch Hall got the secondary assist on the goal, which gave him his first point since coming over in a trade from the Jamestown Ironmen on Jan. 9.

Connor Lyons tied the game with a power play goal 13:24 into the first when he fired a shot into the top left corner of the net.

Truehl was pulled 18:45, to give the Tomahawks the man advantage, but Lyons extended the lead for the Warriors when he put the puck into the empty net at 19:02 of the third.
