ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Johnstown Tomahawks dropped a 5-1 decision to the Northeast Generals Thursday afternoon at the New England Sports Village.

For the third time in three games, the Generals scored the game’s first goal when French forward Louis Boudon finished a rebound from Anthony Quatieri for his first goal of the season.

Northeast followed up Boudon’s goal with a quick strike in the second period from Justin Jallen just 1:14 into the period. Alex Cohen notched the lone assist.

Johnstown would respond nine minutes later when Joe Kile deflected an Andy Iehle wrist shot past Northeast goaltender David Fessenden on the power play. For Kile, the goal was his second of the year.

The Tomahawks tied the game three minutes later after Matyas Kacirek tipped Roman Kraemer’s shot past Fessenden for his first in a Tomahawks uniform.

In the third period, the Tomahawks gained their first lead in the series when forward Andrew Andary pounced on a loose puck from defenseman Karim Del Ponte to set the score at 3-2.

Tomahawks goalie Vinnie Purpura held the fort for Johnstown and help boost the team to its first victory on the 2017-18 season.
