Hilltoppers Take Tomahawks Cup with 6-2 Win
JOHNSTOWN, PA – For the second straight season, the Tomahawks Cup went to the Westmont Hilltoppers, as they defeated Bishop McCort 6-2 on Monday night at the Cambria County War Memorial.
Westmont got on the board first, as Stephen DeMarco scored 12:11 into the first period. Ty Rickabaugh added the assist on the goal.
Early in the second period, the Crimson Crushers tied the game, as Anthony Formica scored at 1:31. Nathan Knecht picked up the assist on the goal.
The Hilltoppers regained the lead, as Austin Crespo received a pass from Adam McQuillan and quickly scored at 5:27.
Bishop McCort tied the game at 14:17, as Connor Bunn scored off a rebound from a Formica shot. Tristan Mock also added an assist on the goal.
Westmont regained the lead late in the period, as Crespo picked up his second of the game at 14:31. DeMarco and Michael Lamison had the assists on the goal.
Crespo finished his hat trick with a goal 1:19 into the third period. Rickabaugh and DeMarco picked up the assists.
DeMarco and Austin DeGrange set the final score with goals at 12:30 and 13:59.
David Cavrak earned the win in net, while Boston Bradley took the loss. The Hilltoppers finished the game 1-for-3 on the power play, while Bishop McCort finished 0-for-6.
