JOHNSTOWN – The Johnstown Tomahawks used a 19-save shutout and two goals from Logan Stork to defeat the New Jersey Titans 3-0 at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena.

With two-time Stanley Cup Champion, Pierre Larouche, in the house for the game, the Tomahawks wanted to come out strong and they did just that.

The ‘Hawks controlled the balance of the play during the first period, generating plenty of shots on Titans goalie Ryan Ferland.

Johnstown cracked Ferland late in the first period when Stork netted a power play goal for a 1-0 Tomahawks lead. His 15th of the season was assisted by Nick Bruce and Chris Trouba.

It was more of the same in the second period as Johnstown continued its barrage of the New Jersey goaltender. However, the netminder Ferland was strong in net denying chances left and right.

Joe Kile increased the Tomahawks lead to 2-0 at the 7:07 mark of the second period when he slipped a puck past the five-hole of Ferland. His eighth of the season was assisted by Brandon Young and Edward Hirka.

Johnstown put the game away late in the third when Stork netted his second goal of the game in the empty net.

Tomahawks netminder Drew Hotte picked up his fifth shutout of the season in an 18-save performance. Ferland stopped 38 of 40 Tomahawks shots on goal.

Both teams are back on the ice Saturday night at 7 p.m. for Youth Hockey Night presented by Claysburg Pizza. The first 1,500 fans will receive free Thundersticks courtesy of Claysburg Pizza.
