Hunter Grabs League Honors

JOHNSTOWN –– For the third consecutive week, a Johnstown Tomahawks player has earned the distinction of the Bauer East Division Star of the Week.

For the week ending February 5, forward Dalton Hunter took home the honors of East Division Star of the Week.Hunter collected seven points (four goals, three assists) in three home games against the Northeast Generals as Johnstown earned a weekend sweep.

“It was a big weekend for our club being able to grab three wins on home ice against a divisional opponent,” Tomahawks head coach Mike Letizia said. “We were lucky to produce some significant offense throughout the weekend from our entire lineup, and Dalton really stepped up and took charge. He was contributing in all sorts of ways scoring even strength, on the power play, short handed, and a beautiful penalty shot goal. It just goes to show how dangerous of a player he can be for our team. I extremely proud of Dalton, and our entire team for taking care of the task at hand this past weekend.”

The Tomahawks are on the road this weekend, February 10-11 as they face the East Division-leading Aston Rebels at the IceWorks Skating Complex in a crucial two-game set.

The team returns to the Cambria County War Memorial Friday, Feb. 18 against New Jersey at 7:30 p.m., for Red Out Night presented by HealthCare First Credit Union. Fans are encouraged to wear red in support of heart health and the American Heart Association. Additionally, Pittsburgh Penguins great Pierre Larouche will drop the ceremonial first puck and sign autographs for fans. His appearance is courtesy of TUDI Mechanical.

Saturday, Johnstown hosts Youth Hockey Night presented by Claysburg Pizza. Teams participating the Presidents’ Day Tournament will be in attendance taking in a Tomahawks home game as well as local youth hockey organizations.
