Lindgren Shuts Door In Tomahawks 4-0 Victory Over Rebels

ASTON– Andrew Lindgren stopped all 32 shots he faced, as the Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the Aston Rebels 4-0 Friday night at Aston Ice Works.

 

The Tomahawks opened the scoring 10:03 into the first period, as Zak Galambos fired a shot from between the circles past Aston goaltender Darion Hanson. Tommy Horn provided the assist on the four-on-four goal.

 

The Rebels tallied a barrage of shots early in the second period, but Lindgren stood tall to preserve the one-goal lead.

 

Kelly O’Brien extended the Johnstown lead, deflecting an Andrew Romano pass between the skate of Hanson and the post with 1:08 remaining in the second period.

 

Ryan Burr made it 3-0 after two periods, scoring a power-play goal from the right side of Hanson with 1.7 remaining in the period.

 

Luke Lynch made it 4-0, taking a pass from Casey Linkenheld between the circles and firing a shot past Darion Hanson with 2:59 remaining in the second period.

 

Romano provided the assist on the goal, giving him the Tomahawks all-time assists record (55), along with the single-season record (38).

 

Lindgren earned his second shutout of the season for Johnstown, while Hanson suffered the loss, allowing three goals on 16 shots. Trevor Micucci replaced Hanson in the third, allowing one goal on four shots.

 

Johnstown closes out the series against Aston tomorrow night at 7 p.m. before welcoming Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to the War Memorial next Friday and Saturday, April 1 and 2.
