Lindgren Shuts the Door on Knights

Mar 12, 2016

JOHNSTOWN – Andrew Lindgren stopped 34 Wilkes-Barre/Scranton shots en route to a 3-0 victory for the Johnstown Tomahawks Saturday night at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena.

Both the Tomahawks and the Knights engaged in a defensive struggle the first period, surrendering less than 10 shots a piece in the opening frame.

Johnstown gained momentum going into the second period after killing a Zak Galambos five minute major penalty for kneeing.

Lindgren and his counterpart, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton goalie Andrey Svistunov, held the fort and halted all of the pucks they saw in the second period. As a result, both teams skated into the final frame in a scoreless tie.

At 9:39, the Tomahawks broke the zeros when Tommy Horn backhanded a shot past Svistunov unassisted. For Horn, the goal was his eleventh of the campaign.

Anthony Parrucci notched his tenth goal of the year at 12:42, beating the goaltender blocker side. Filips Buncis and Brendan Jaquay tallied the helpers.

Jaquay added a goal of his own into an empty net to seal the Tomahawks victory at 3-0. Parrucci assisted on Jaquay’s tenth of the season.

In the loss, Svistunov stopped 26 Tomahawks shots on goal, moving his record to 8-10-1 on the season for the Knights.
