Oct 10, 2016

JOHNSTOWN— The Johnstown Tomahawks announced today Donovan Ott was named the East Division Star of the Week for the week ending Oct. 9, 2016.

Ott tallied five points (four goals, one assist) and a plus-3 rating during the Tomahawks’ sweep of the Kenai River Brown Bears.

The Lebanon, Pa., native scored three goals on four shots in an 8-2 win of the Brown bears on Friday, Oct. 7. Two of the three tallies were scored on the power play.

He rounded out his impressive week with a goal and assist in Johnstown’s 5-3 win on Saturday’s contest.

“Donovan has been great for us since the season has started,” said Tomahawks head coach Mike Letizia. “He’s played consistent hockey and has been a 200-foot player game in and game out. With the road schedule we have had to start the season, we have counted on him so much to lead on and off the ice and he has not disappointed one bit. This week he stepped up his game even more leading the way for us with a big number of points including timely goals and multiple point games. He knows how to use his size to his advantage and make his opportunities count when he gets them. I really look forward to his continued success hopefully leading him to a NCAA Division I commitment that I firmly believe he is deserving of.”

The Tomahawks are back on the road on Thursday, Oct. 20 for a meeting with the East Division’s newest team, the Northeast Generals. The three-game series begins with a 7 p.m. faceoff.
