Parrucci Named East Division Star of the Week

JOHNSTOWN – The Johnstown Tomahawks announced today that forward Anthony Parrucci has been named the East Division Star of the Week for the week ending Feb. 28, 2016. Parrucci had three points (one goal, two assists) in the Tomahawks weekend split with the Aston Rebels.

Parrucci tallied a secondary assist on Johnstown’s only goal during a 5-1 loss Friday, Feb. 26. He added a goal and an on the overtime winner goal during Saturday’s thrilling 3-2 overtime win at the War Memorial.

“I could not be prouder of Anthony Parruci for earning Star of the Week for the second time this season,” Tomahawks head coach Mike Letizia said. “He is the ultimate team player as well as an ultimate individual. He has a work ethic second to none and brings everything he has to the team day in and day out.”

“He factored in almost all of our scoring over the weekend. This honor is a testament to his commitment and I am extremely happy for him.”

Parrucci has appeared in 49 games for the Tomahawks, registering eight goals and 11 assists.

This is the second time Parrucci has earned this honor this season, as he also received it for the week ending Sept. 21, 2015. Fellow teammates who have earned the award this season include: Niko Coffman (week of 1/18/16), Drew Doyon (week of 12/7/15), Luke Lynch (week of 11/30/15), Adam Pilewicz (week of 10/12/15) and Andrew Romano (week of 1/3/16).
