Port Huron Fighting Falcons vs. Johnstown Tomahawks

LAST NIGHT

The Johnstown Tomahawks battled hard in the third period, but the Fighting Falcons used two second period goals to pick up the 4-1 win on Saturday night at the Cambria County War    Memorial Arena.

                The Fighting Falcons got on the board first, as Jon Hall scored between the legs of goaltender Brett Young at 7:43 of the first period. They added two more goals in the second period, the first by Nick Horne 3:09 into the second period and the second by Alex Archibald at 9:21.

                Port Huron’s Zach Badalamenti made it 4-0, before Brady Bender got the Tomahawks on the board at 15:43 of the third period. Garrison Sanipass and Brandon Reinholz added the assists on the Bender goal.

                Alex Blankenburg earned the win, stopping 28 of 29 shots. Brett Young stopped 26 of 30 shots in the loss, including a penalty shot attempt by Vito Aluia at 12:49 of the second    period. Neither team was able to score on the power play, with Port Huron going 0-for-4 and Johnstown going 0-for-3.

                Following today’s game, the Tomahawks welcome Springfield to the War Memorial next Friday & Saturday, Nov. 8 &9.
