Tomahawks Announce Fan Celebration

Event to be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, April 7 at the War Memorial Arena

if a Game 3 will not be played.

Johnstown, Pa. – The Johnstown Tomahawks are thrilled to invite fans to celebrate the team’s inaugural season in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, April 7 at the War Memorial Arena if a North Division Play-In Series Game 3 will not be played. The free event will feature a “Skate with the Hawks,” autograph and picture opportunities, and a thank you from the coaches and players. In addition, the merchandise booth will be open and Domino’s pizza and drinks will be sold with all proceeds going to the Tomahawks Foundation.

“Given the fact that our fans are already making plans to possibly attend a Game 3 at the War Memorial on Sunday at 3 p.m., we wanted to create a fun event for the fans to celebrate the team and meet with the coaches and players regardless of the outcome of the North Division Play-In Series,” said General Manager and Director of Hockey Operations, Rick Boyd.

On Thursday, April 4 and Friday, April 5, the Tomahawks will play the Port Huron Fighting Falcons in Michigan for Games 1 and 2 of the North Division best-of-three Play-In Series. If the Tomahawks sweep both games in Michigan, Sunday’s event will serve to celebrate the team’s advance to the North Division Semi-Finals. If Port Huron wins both games on home ice, the Tomahawks would like to celebrate their inaugural season and thank fans.

Should a Game 3 be required, the two teams will head to Johnstown for a 3 p.m. matchup at the War Memorial Arena on Sunday, April 7 to decide the series.

Individual tickets for the potential Sunday afternoon game will go on sale Saturday, April 6 at 10 a.m. Fans can purchase tickets at the War Memorial Box Office until 5 p.m., through Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000, or on JohnstownTomahawks.com.
