Tomahawks Announce “Name the Mascot” Contest

Jun 5, 2012

JOHNSTOWN, PA – June 6, 2012 – The Johnstown Tomahawks are asking fans to help name the team’s new mascot, which will be unveiled later this summer.

The team is holding a “Name the Mascot” contest in which fans can suggest names for the yet-to-be designed mascot.  Entry forms are available online at www.JohnstownTomahawks or during head coach Jason Spence’s appearance at the Kids-A-Fair festival to be held Saturday, June 9 at Point Stadium in Johnstown.  Spence will be on hand from noon to 1 p.m.

The contest’s grand prize winner will receive a pair of free season tickets to the Johnstown Tomahawks’ inaugural 2012-13 season.  The full regular season is expected to be announced in early June.

Other prizes in the contest include Tomahawks individual game tickets and a voucher for $100 in team merchandise.  The grand prize will go to the contestant picking the winning mascot name, and other prizes will be drawn randomly from all entries.  If more than one entry suggests the winning name, the grand prize winner will be drawn randomly from those entries.  The contest deadline is Saturday, June 23.

Fans can mail their entries to the Johnstown Tomahawks, 326 Napoleon Street, Suite 115, Johnstown, PA, 15901.  All entries should include the contestant’s name, address, phone number, e-mail address and birth date, in addition to the suggested mascot name.
