Tomahawks Announce Series of Transactions

JOHNSTOWN – The Johnstown Tomahawks announced Friday a series of transactions ahead of a weekend series with the Philadelphia Rebels.
Forward Donovan Ott has returned to Johnstown after a five-game stint with the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL. Ott returns to the Tomahawks after a solid statistical year for Johnstown in 2016-17.
The Lebanon, Pa., native scored 32 goals and added on 25 assists in 57 games played. He also earned a spot on the NAHL Selects team at the 2017 Top Prospects Tournament last February.
In corresponding transactions, the Tomahawks traded goaltender Vinnie Purpura and defenseman Hunter Carrick to the Omaha Lancers of the USHL in exchange for forward Andy Nedeljkovic and defenseman Danny Petrick.
The Tomahawks then sent Petrick to the Austin Bruins in exchange for veteran defenseman Toby Sengvongxay (SING-VONG-SIGH) and a 2018 fifth round pick in the NAHL Draft.
Nedeljkovic, of Parma, Ohio, earned one assist in five games for the Lancers this season. The 5-11 forward starred for the Victory Honda program prior to making the jump to the USHL. His brother, goalie Alex Nedeljkovic, is a prospect in the Carolina Hurricanes system.
Sengvongxay, a native of Luverne, Minn., is a three-season veteran of the NAHL, playing in 108 games and registering 23 points.
Johnstown additionally acquired goaltender Jack Leavy from the Minnesota Wilderness. Leavy should be familiar to Tomahawks fans as he tended goal for the Philadelphia Rebels to begin the season.
In 2016-17, Leavy earned a 13-1-3 record for the then-Aston Rebels en route to an appearance in the Robertson Cup Finals.
The Tomahawks next home game will be November 3, 2017 vs the New Jersey Titans. The home game is Movember Boys Night Out: Men’s Health Awareness Night. Fans entering the arena will receive two ping pong balls to throw on the ice upon the Hawks scoring their first goal. Saturday, Nov. 4, the Tomahawks will hand out Camo Hats to the first 500 fans presented by Somerset Hospital. Additionally, the game is designated as Somerset County Night. The Tomahawks warp up the series with the Titans on Sunday, Nov. 5 with Undies Sunday presented by Com Pros. Fans are invited to bring packages of new, unopened underwear to toss onto the ice after the Tomahawks first goal. Proceeds benefit Birthright of Cambria County.
