Tomahawks defeat Titans 7-2

Middletown, NJ – The Tomahawks exploded offensively in a 7-2 victory over the New Jersey Titans Saturday night.
New Jersey kicked off the scoring at 15:59 of the first period when Tate Singleton (assisted by Nick Boyagain and Eric Manoukian) netted his 19th goal of the season.
Johnstown then tied the game a little less than a minute later at 16:53 when team-leading scorer, Samuel Solensky (assisted by Joe Kile), scored his 17th goal of the year.
The Tomahawks then took the lead with only four seconds left in the period, with Kile (assisted by Solensky and Andrew Quetell) scoring his 15th goal of the year.
The Tomahawks took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
In the second period, the Tomahawks took a two-goal lead when Roman Kraemer (assisted by Kile and Karim DelPonte) scored his 19th goal of the season. The goal came at 4:59 of the second period.
The Titans then pulled within one at 8:14 when Ryan Naumovski (assisted by Matthew Cameron) scored his 16th goal of the season.
After two periods of play, Johnstown still led 3-2.
In the third period, Johnstown regained their two-goal lead only 47 seconds in when Andrew Andary (assisted by Kraemer) netted his fifth goal of the season.
Andary scored again on a penalty shot at 5:56 to put the Tomahawks up 5-2.
Johnstown continued to add to their lead when Solensky (assisted by Christian Gorscak) scored his second goal of the game, this time on the power play at 10:24.
The Tomahawks now led the Titans, 6-2.
Johnstown wasn’t done filling the net. At 13:28, Kraemer (unassisted) scored his second goal of the game.
This gave Johnstown a 7-2 lead, which would be the final score.
Kade Phipps picked up the win in net for Johnstown. It was his first start since February 9, 2018 vs. the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.
The Tomahawks are back home on April 6-7 to close out the 2017-18 NAHL regular season when they host the visiting Philadelphia Rebels. It’s Fan Appreciation Weekend presented by UPMC Health Plan. The Tomahawks will say “Thank you” to their fans with special events, activities, and giveaways during the team’s final regular-season weekend featuring the fan favorite Scratch Off Giveaways, with guaranteed winners on every ticket. There will also be a surprise mystery celebrity guest appearance.
On April 7, Fan Appreciation Weekend will continue in the Tomahawks season finale and will include live music, more giveaways, and the chance for a fan to win a new car!
