The Johnstown Tomahawks picked up a crucial point on Friday night, but were unable to get the second, falling to the Port Huron Fighting Falcons 3-2 in overtime at McMorran Arena.

After a scoreless first period, the Fighting Falcons got on the board first, as Jon Hall scored on a shot from just inside the blue line at 3:07. At 6:39, Zach Wallace tied the game with a shorthanded breakaway goal after Brandon Reinholz stole the puck at the other end of the ice.

Reinholz gave the Tomahawks a 2-1 lead late in the second, scoring a goal in the slot with five seconds left in the period. The Tomahawks held the lead, until Bryan Yim took a pass from Alex Archibald and scored a power-play goal from the right side of Brett Young with 1:53 remaining in the third period.

In overtime, Horne scored the game-winning goal for the Fighting Falcons on a shot between the circles with 1:03 remaining in overtime. The loss is the first time the Tomahawks have lost in overtime this season in only their second game that ended in overtime.

Max Milosek earned the win, stopping 25 of 27 shots. Brett Young took the loss, allowing three goals on 36 shots in his first game since Nov. 2 against the Fighting Falcons. Johnstown went 0-for-3 on the power play, while going 4-for-5 on the penalty kill.

The Tomahawks and Fighting Falcons conclude their weekend series tomorrow night at 7 p.m. The Tomahawks take the following weekend off, before welcoming the Michigan Warriors to the War Memorial Feb. 14 & 15.
