BLAINE, Minn. – In his first start of the season, goaltender Nick DeSimone did not disappoint, stopping all 28 shots he faced in a 4-0 victory over the Brookings Blizzard Thursday morning at the NAHL Showcase.

Just 35 seconds into the game, Alex Alger got the Tomahawks on the board with his first goal of the season. Andrew Romano and Casey Linkenheld each added assists on the goal.

Newly acquired defenseman Zak Galambos gave Johnstown (3-1-0) a two-goal advantage with a power-play goal 58 seconds into the second period. Tommy Horn and Drew Doyon picked up the assists on the goal.

Austin Heakins made it 3-0 with a short-handed goal 14 minutes into the third period. Logan Hudson added the assist on the first goal of the season for Heakins.

Alger set the final score with an unassisted empty net goal at 19:25.
