Tomahawks Fall to Jets 2-1 on Faith & Family Night

On Faith and Family night sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Jordan Himley scored the game-winning goal 44 seconds into the third period, as the Janesville Jets defeated the Johnstown Tomahawks 2-1. The win pulls the Jets within one point of the Tomahawks for third place in the division.

 

After a scoreless first period, Janesville got on the board 44 seconds into the second, on a Kyle Patava goal. Robin Hoglund added the lone assist on the goal. Late in the second period, Shane Cuckovich tied the game, firing a shot past Logan Halladay with 1:56 remaining. Zach Wallace added the assist on Cuckovich’s fourth goal of the season.

 

Janesville regained the lead early in the third period, as Himley scored on Alex Okicki early in the period. Evan Feno and Alex Smith were credited with the assists on the goal. Halladay earned the win, stopping 21 of 22 shots. Okicki took the loss, stopping 23 of 25 shots. Both teams went 0-for-2 on the power play.

 

The Tomahawks travel to Springfield next Friday and Saturday to take on the Jr. Blues. They return home for the regular-season home finale against Soo, March 21-23.
