Tomahawks Fall to Warriors 3-2

Mitch Hall and Joe Drabin each scored power-play goals, but the Michigan Warriors picked up the 3-2 win over the Johnstown Tomahawls on Friday night at Perani Arena in Flint, Mich.

Michigan got on the board early as Cory Lichtenvoort scored just 1:22 into the first period. They made it 2-0 later in the period on a Cody Kuster goal at 10:20.

Captain Mitch Hall got the Tomahawks on the board in the second period, scoring a power-play goal at 6:13. The goal was Hall’s first of the season. Matthew Meier and Cody Bentzel each added assists on the goal. Joe Drabin tied the game on an unassisted goal less than two minutes into the third period. The goal was his first since scoring in the 3-1 victory over Bismarck on Sept. 21.

The Warriors Alec Pellegrino scored the game-winning goal at 10:35 of the third period to set the final score at 3-2.

Alex Okicki took the loss stopping 24 of 27 shots. It was his first loss since falling to Port Huron on Sept. 15. Dillon Kelley earned the win, stopping 15 of 17 shots. The Tomahawks scored two power-play goals, while going a perfect 7-for-7 on the penalty kill.

The Tomahawks conclude their weekend series against Michigan tomorrow night at 7 p.m. They take the following weekend off, before welcoming the Soo Eagles for a weekend series Oct. 24-26. For more information, visit JohnstownTomahawks.com or call 814-536-4625.
