Tomahawks Lose To Jets in Physical Game 4-1

In the regular season finale, the Johnstown Tomahawks and Janesville Jets engaged in a physical game at the Janesville Ice Arena. When the dust settled, the Jets took the weekend series with a 4-1 win.

Tanner Barnes opened the scoring 21 seconds into the first period, with Trevor Recktenwald and Tyler Basham earning assists on the goal. Janesville tied the game 1:27 later, as Truman Gonzales snuck a shot under the crossbar. The Jets took the lead, as Jordan Himley scored a power-play goal at 7:28. Ian Janco added an assist on both goals.

In the third period, Drew Callin made it a 3-1 game with a power-play goal at 17:55. Robin Hoglund and Adam Winborg added assists on the goal. Gonzales earned his second goal of the game and set the final score with an empty net goal at 19:00.

Logan Halladay earned the win, stopping 26 of 27 shots. Brett Young took the loss, stopping 22 of 25 shots. The Tomahawks went 0-for-3 on the power play, while going 7-for-9 on the penalty kill.

The Tomahawks take on the Port Huron Fighting Falcons in the first round of the Robertson Cup playoffs, with game one in Port Huron on Thursday April 3.
