Tomahawks Pummel Titans 7-2

Middletown, NJ – The Tomahawks exploded offensively in a 7-2 victory over the New Jersey Titans Saturday night.

New Jersey kicked off the scoring at 15:59 of the first period when Tate Singleton netted his nineteenth goal of the season. The assists went to Nick Boyagain and Eric Manoukian.

 

 

Johnstown then tied the game a little less than a minute later at 16:53 when the team-leading scorer, Samuel Solensky scored his seventeenth goal of the year. The lone assist went to Joe Kile.

The Tomahawks then took the lead with only four seconds left in the period. Joe Kile scored his fifteenth goal of the year. The assists went to Samuel Solensky and Andrew Quetell.

The Tomahawks took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.

In the second period, the Tomahawks took at two-goal lead when Roman Kraemer scored his nineteenth goal of the season. The goal came at 4:59 of the second period and was assisted by Joe Kile and Karim DelPonte.

The Titans then pulled within one at 8:14 when Ryan Naumovski scored his sixteenth goal of the season. It was assisted by Matthew Camerson.

After two periods of play, Johnstown still led, 3-2.

In the third period, Johnstown regained their two-goal lead. Only 47-seconds into the period, Andrew Andary netted his fifth goal of the season. Roman Kraemer picked up the assist.

Andrew Andary scored again at 5:56 to put the Tomahawks up 5-2. The goal came off a penalty shot.

Johnstown continued to add to their lead when Samuel Solensky scored his second goal of the game, this time on the power play at 10:24. Christian Gorscak picked up the assist.

The Tomahawks now led the Titans, 6-2.

Johnstown wasn’t done filling the net. At 13:28, Roman Kraemer scored his second goal of the game. It was unassisted.

This gave Johnstown a 7-2 lead, which would be the final score.

In net for Johnstown, Kade Phipps picked up the win. It was his first start since February 9, 2018 vs the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.

 

The Tomahawks are back home on April 6-7 to close out the 2017-18 NAHL regular season when they host the visiting Philadelphia Rebels. It’s Fan Appreciation Weekend presented by UPMC Health Plan. The Tomahawks will say “Thank you” to their fans with special events, activities, and giveaways during the team’s final regular-season weekend featuring the fan favorite Scratch Off Giveaways with guaranteed winners on every ticket.
