Tomahawks Rebound From 2-0 Deficit, Fall To Eagles 3-2

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich.-The Johnstown Tomahawks came back from an early 2-0 deficit, but the Soo Eagles scored a third period goal to pick up the 3-2 win on Saturday night at Pullar Stadium.

Soo got on the board first, as Sandis Zolmanis scored at 2:15 of the first period. They made it 2-0, as AJ Jarosz scored at 3:19. Following the second Soo goal, Alex Okicki came into the game to replace starting goaltender Jake Moore.

Joe Drabin got the Tomahawks on the board in the second, scoring at 12:11. Drabin has points in four of his last six games. Brandon Reinholz added the lone assist on the goal. Just 20 seconds later, Shane Cuckovich tied the game, with Garrison Sanipass and Reinholz providing the assists. Reinholz now has six multi-point games this season.

                Jarosz regained the lead for the Eagles with a power-play goal at 13:28 of the third period.

                Nathan Klebe earned the win, stopping 26 of 28 shots. Okicki took the loss in relief of Moore, stopping 32 of 33 shots. The Tomahawks were 0-for-3 on the power play, while going 6 of 7 on the penalty kill.

The Tomahawks and Eagles conclude their weekend series on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. The Tomahawks then travel to Springfield and Port Huron over the next two weekends, before returning home Jan. 24 and 25 to take on the Michigan Warriors.
