Tomahawks Shut Out Northeast 5-0

JOHNSTOWN – The Johnstown Tomahawks scored a 5-0 shut out win over the Northeast Generals Friday night at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena.

The Tomahawks scored the game’s first goal when Adam Pilewicz launched a shot past Generals goalie Peter Ciccarelli on the power play. Nick Bruce and Logan Stork added the assists on Pilewicz’s third of the season.

Johnstown increased their lead to 2-0 when Filips Buncis scored a power play goal at 15:31 of the first period. Dalton Hunter and Daniil Bokun assisted on the goal.

Evan Somoza scored his first goal as a Tomahawk and 10th goal of the season a little over two minutes later. Hayden Rowan assisted on the goal.

The Tomahawks came out flying again in the second period as they added to their lead at 6:02 of after Donovan Ott wristed home his 21st of the year. The goal was assisted by Pilewicz and Andrew Quetell. The score moved to 4-0 Tomahawks.

Twenty seconds later, Tommy Horn’s wrister found its way behind Ciccarelli to give Johnstown a 5-0 lead.

Both teams were held off the scoreboard in the third period as the Tomahawks shut out the Generals 5-0.

Goalie Drew Hotte stopped all 22 shots he faced in the contest while Ciccarelli stopped 28 of 33.
