Tomahawks Shut Out Titans 2-0, Lead Series 2-0

Apr 15, 2016

MIDDLETOWN, NJ – The Johnstown Tomahawks defense held strong as the team defeated the New Jersey Titans 2-0 at Middletown Ice World Friday night.

The Titans and Tomahawks exchanged chances in the first period early but both Andrew Lindgren and Jack Berry stood tall in between the pipes for their respective teams.

Despite three power play opportunities during the period, Johnstown was unable to solve Titans goalie Berry and the score was set a zeros for the first intermission.

It was more of the same in the middle frame.

New Jersey earned power play chances but the Johnstown penalty killing units were up to the task and shut the door on the Titans in the period. Both teams skated into the locker rooms tied at 0-0.

Zak Galambos broke the scoreless tie seconds into the third period when he sent a shot into a vacated net to put the Tomahawks up 1-0.

New Jersey had marvelous chances to tie the game but failed as Luke Lynch put the game away with an empty net marker.

Lindgren earns his second post-season victory and the shut out.

The Tomahawks return to the Cambria County War Memorial Arena with a 2-0 series lead for game three Friday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. For tickets, call 814-536-5156 or visit JohnstownTomahawks.com
