Tomahawks Shutout By Warriors 3-0

The Johnstown Tomahawks fell 3-0 in their Sunday afternoon showdown with the Michigan Wariors at the War Memorial. The loss is the Tomahawks first loss in regulation on Sunday this season, after starting the season 2-0-1.

The Warriors struck first, as Zed Dietrich’s shot from the right side found its way past Ryan Bednard with 14 seconds remaining in the first period. Dalton Skelly and AJ Marcinek each added assists on the goal.

Tyler Groat extended the Michigan lead to two, scoring 5:19 into the second period. Brandon Wolfe and Cody Kuster each earned assists on the goal.

Marcinek set the final score later in the period, poking the puck between the right post and the skate of Bednard at 16:04.

Ryan Wischow earned the win for Michigan (12-13-4), stopping all 28 shots he faced. Wischow is now 3-0 against the Tomahawks this season. Bednard stopped 24 of 27 shots in the loss.

Johnstown (11-10-1) went 0-for-3 on the power-play and 1-for-1 on the only penalty kill they faced.
