Tomahawks Start Strong, Fall to Jamestown 1-0

Johnstown, PA – Johnstown and Jamestown went over 48 minutes without a goal, but Nicholas Sierra poked a shot past Colin Brennan in the third period to give Jamestown a 1-0 win in front of a sellout crowd of 3,725 on Saturday night at the Cambria County War Memorial.

Sierra’s goal extended his hot streak: In his last ten games he has earned all eight of his points (4-4-8) this season.

Both goaltenders were strong with Reid Mimmack stopping all 37 shots for his second shutout of the season,just one night after giving up five goals in a 5-0 Tomahawks’ victory. Colin Brennan stopped 30 of 31 shots in the loss, snapping his four-game winning streak. Sierra’s goal snapped Brennan’s streak of 127 minutes without allowing a goal.

Despite giving up a goal tonight, Johnstown has been solid on defense, only allowing six goals in its last five games.

With the loss, Johnstown snapped its three-game winning streak while Jamestown snapped their three-game losing streak. The Tomahawks also lost their first game of the season to Jamestown.

The Tomahawks travel to Port Huron for games on Dec. 21 and 22 before returning home to take on the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings on Dec. 30 and 31.
