The Johnstown Tomahawks and Port Huron Fighting Falcons went scoreless through the first two periods on Saturday night, before the teams combined for four goals in the third period. The Tomahawks scored three of the goals to earn the victory at McMorran Arena, pulling them back within four points of the first-place Fighting Falcons in the NAHL North division.

Josh Bowes broke the scoreless tie, receiving a red-line pass from Mitch Hall before using an impressive set of moves to slide the puck past the left skate of Max Milosek at 7:50. Hall’s assist on the goal was his 20th of the season.

The Tomahawks extended their lead, as Tommy Hall and Jordan Watt took advantage of a two-on-one opportunity at 13:55. Hall took the puck near the red line, before getting it to Watt who fired it past Milosek from the right side.

Nick LeSage got the Fighting Falcons on the board, scoring from above the right faceoff circle at 15:21.

Shane Bednard sealed the victory as his shot from between the faceoff circles on the Tomahawks end of the ice hit the left post and rolled into the empty net at 19:47. Bednard now has five points against the Fighting Falcons this season.

Alex Okicki was solid in net for the Tomahawks, stopping 35 of 36 shots for his 13th win of the season. Milosek took the loss, allowing two goals on 25 shots.

The Tomahawks travel to Flint Mich. to take on the Michigan Warriors next Friday & Saturday nights. They return home Dec. 30 & 31 to take on the Warriors at the Cambria County War Memorial.
