Tomahawks Sweep Jr. Blues 6-5

            Brandon Reinholz scored three points and three other Tomahawks scored two points, as the Tomahawks defeated the Jr. Blues 6-5 on Saturday night at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena. The win is the Tomahawks third straight overall and fourth straight against the Jr. Blues.

            Matthew Meier scored less than two minutes into the game, with the assist going to Reinholz. Early in the second period, the Jr. Blues took the lead on three goals goals in a 4:20 span. Patrick Curry scored at 1:06, Michael Mylchreest scored at 2:54, and Dan Dekorte scored at 4:20.

            The Tomahawks got two of their own from Shane Bednard at 11:49 of the second period and Omar Mullan 29 seconds into the third period. Bednard has now scored eight points (5-3-8) in his last three games. Mullan extended his goal-scoring streak to three games.

            Mike Severson regained the lead for the Jr. Blues 4:43 into the third period, before Garrison Sanipass scored his first goal of the season to tie the game at four.

            Brandon Reinholz scored a pair of third period goals at 13:27 and 16:39 to make it a 6-4 lead. Reinholz has now scored nine points (5-4-9) in his last six games.

Springfield cut the deficit to one, but the Tomahawks were able to close the game out for the win.

            Alex Okicki picked up his second straight win, stopping 26 of 31 shots. Sandro Aeschlimann took the loss, allowing 6 goals on 29 shots. Springfield scored the only two power-play goals, going 2-for-4. Johnstown was 0-for-2 on the power play.
