JOHNSTOWN  The Johnstown Tomahawks are proud to announce that goaltender Drew Hotte has committed to play Division I hockey at Boston University beginning Fall 2017.

A native of Gwynedd, Pa., Hotte was a steady hand in between the pipes in 2016-17, setting a team record for wins in a season by amassing a mark of 24-12-1.

He also added a solid save percentage of .913 and a goals against average of 2.43.

Hotte was the team’s first pick in the 2016 NAHL Draft.

“I am so proud of Drew for his commitment to Boston University,” head coach Mike Letizia said. “He is a fantastic young man and he undoubtedly deserves the opportunity at a prestigious program like BU. He was a rock for us all season long with exceptional play and high character in our dressing room. Additionally, he received a large amount of interest from multiple programs all season long and found the fit he was looking for on and off the ice with the Terriers. I am happy for Drew and his family on this outstanding achievement.”

The Terriers are a perennial college hockey power with countless alumni being NHL stars such as Buffalo forward Jack Eichel, Penguins forward Nick Bonino and Capitals defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk.

Boston University is a member of the Hockey East Conference.

Sunday, July 9, the Tomahawks are hosting two All-Star Exhibitions to complete 2017 Main Camp at North Central Recreation Center in Ebensburg, Pa. Game on of the event is slated for 9 a.m. and Game two begins at 11 a.m. Admission to both events is free of charge.
