Jan 22, 2017

JOHNSTOWN – The Johnstown Tomahawks used two goals from Logan Stork to defeat the New Jersey Titans 4-1 Saturday night at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena.

Neither team could solve their respective goalies in the first period as the teams skated to a scoreless first intermission.

Danny Eruzione netted the game’s first goal at 14:50 of the second period when he buried a cross-ice feed from Anthony Cusanelli. For Eruzione, the goal was his 12th of the season.

Johnstown pushed back and eventually generated plenty of chances on Titans netminder Brandon Perrone and were rewarded for their efforts at 12:20 of the second period.

Stork received a pass from Tommy Horn and slapped the puck from the top of the left circle past the glove of Perrone to tie the game at 1-1. For Stork, the goal was his tenth of the season.

Just over four minutes later, the Tomahawks gained their first lead of the contest when Horn sent a one-time pass from Nick Bruce to the back of the cage for his sixth of the season.

In the third period, the Tomahawks wasted little time in increasing their lead as Stork added his second of the game 10 seconds into the period. Horn and Bruce picked up the helpers.

Donovan Ott scored his 20th of the season at the 4:59 mark of the third period. His goal was assisted by Filips Buncis and Daniil Bokun.

Hotte stopped 25 of 26 New Jersey shots on goal en route to his 14th victory of the season. His overall record improves to 14-6-1.

The Tomahawks return to the War Memorial on Friday, January 27 for a series with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. January 27-28 is Kid’s Weekend with a special appearance on Saturday, Jan. 28 from the ZOOperstars!
