Perrault Commits to Augustana

Jan 6, 2023

Johnstown Tomahawks defenseman and assistant captain, Ethan Perrault, has announced his commitment to play Division I hockey at Augustana University.

“We are so happy for Ethan and his commitment to Augustana,” said Tomahawks head coach Mike Letizia. “He has demonstrated such growth from 2020-21 when he played some affiliate games for us, to now being our assistant captain and one of the best defensemen in the NAHL.”

In his career with the Tomahawks, Perrault has 29 points (3G, 26A) and a 15 +/- rating in 92 games. The Tipp City, Ohio native also tallied a goal last season in Johnstown’s Robertson Cup Playoffs run. Perrault spent a brief stint with the United States National Team Development Program U18 team this past October, where he put up two assists in two games for Team USA.

“Ethan is a constant worker on and off the ice and brings an element of hard-nosed defense that is so valuable to any team,” added Letizia. “Additionally, he is a great kid. He has earned this opportunity to play Division I hockey at another new and upcoming hockey program. I really couldn’t be prouder of him and look forward to his continued leadership, and strong play in the second half of our season.”

Augustana University, located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, will begin their first year of Division I play in the 2023-24 season. The Vikings will play in the Central College Hockey Association (CCHA).
