Tomahawks Welcome Max Talbot Friday, March 24

JOHNSTOWN, PA- Former Pittsburgh Penguins forward and 2009 Stanley Cup Champion Max Talbot will make a public appearance in Johnstown on Friday, March 24th.. The Tomahawks announced today that Talbot will be on hand for a private pregame event as well as a free meet and greet during the game.

“We are excited to host another former Penguin at a game, especially a fan favorite like Max,” said Derek Partsch, Tomahawks director of business operations. “Any time you get a guy like Max, it’s always going to be fun. He will entertain the crowd and be great for fans.” Partsch added, “Everyone remembers the ’09 Cup run when he shushed the crowd after that fight in Philly. You can bet we will reference that when he comes here.”

The evening will begin with a one-hour, private VIP event with Talbot inside 1ST SUMMIT ARENA. Talbot will then drop the ceremonial “first puck” prior to the start of the Tomahawks game against the Philadelphia Rebels. Partsch says, “After puck drop, Max will be doing a free meet and greet for fans in the party pit. He’s scheduled to be here ‘til about midway through the game.” Fans will not be required to purchase a meet and greet ticket to meet Max, unlike other celebrities in the past. “Some events have required us to sell meet and greet tickets to help cover expenses or have a little more control over things regarding timing. That’s not necessary for this event”, Partsch said.

A limited number of tables and individual seats at the private event are available and can be booked by emailing derek@johnstowntomahawks.com. The event is presented by 1ST SUMMIT BANK, Cambria Care Center, GAPVAX Inc., and Raynor Garage Door of Johnstown.

The Tomahawks are currently fifth place in the East Division of the NAHL. They will host the Maine Nordiques at 1ST SUMMIT ARENA this weekend beginning Friday, January 13th at 7:30pm. Puck drop is set for 7:00pm on Saturday.

Tickets for all Tomahawks home games, including the Max Talbot appearance game on March 24th, can be purchased, and sent directly to your mobile device from www.ticketmaster.com.
