Tomahawks Defeated in Overtime

The Tomahawks suffered an overtime loss to the Jamestown Rebels in Johnstown, with the final score being 3-2. Newcomer Frank Jenkins made his debut for the Hawks in Friday night’s contest.

Jamestown opened the scoring Friday night with a goal from James Lundy to put the Rebels up 12:24 into the opening period. Although there were a few penalties after the goal, there was no change in the score and Jamestown ended the 1st with a one-goal lead.

Jake Black wasted no time in the 2nd period tying up the game at 1 with his 16th goal of the season. Zachary Murray gave the Tomahawks their first lead of the night scoring 5:29 into the period making it 2-1 in favor of Johnstown. The Tomahawks earned a power play in the late stages of the period, but the Rebels killed off the penalty and the period played out without any additional scoring.

At the 8:25 mark in the 3rd period, Lundy scored his second goal of the game and for the Rebels to tie it up at 2. Despite multiple chances for both sides, the game headed to overtime tied at 2.

Marcus Kivela Carlzon scored the game winner on just 23 seconds into overtime, giving the Rebels the 3-2 win on Friday night.

Both teams face off again tomorrow, Saturday November 27 at 1ST SUMMIT ARENA for the final game of this series, and of the Tomahawks month long homestand. Tickets will be available to purchase at the door.
