Tomahawks Sweep Knights

Johnstown, Pa – Johnstown picked up another weekend sweep against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, winning Saturday night, 3-2.
The first was all Johnstown as the Tomahawks were able to score both goals in the period.
First, Ben Schmidling ripped one past Knight’s goaltender, David Tomeo, to put the Tomahawks up 1-0. The goal was unassisted at 8:16.
Then, Roman Kraemer scored another high-glove goal to make the game 2-0 in Johnstown’s favor. The lone assist went to Andy Nedeljkovic at 13:16.
In the second period, the Knights made the game 2-1 off a goal from Reed Robinson and assisted by Adrian Danchenko at 1:31.
About five minutes later, the Tomahawks would regain their two-goal lead when Pavel Kharin scored his fourth goal of the season. The insurance goal came at 6:53 and was assisted by Cade Groton.
In the third, the Knights turned up the pressure as they looked to get themselves back in the game. With only 1:13 left to go in the game, and their goalie pulled for the extra attacker, the Knights scored their second goal of the game. Adrian Danchenko scored with the assist going to Anthony Firriolo.
The Knights then pulled their netminder once again as they looked to tie up the game but the Tomahawks didn’t allow another shot on net and held on for the 3-2 victory.
Jack Leavy picked up his second win of the weekend allowing two goals on 34 shots.
The next time the Tomahawks are at home will be on Friday, March 18 when they host the Northeast Generals at 7:30pm. It’s Fight Night presented by Valley Printing. The gloves are off on Fight Night.
