Tomahawks Win Secures Home Ice to Start Playoffs

The Johnstown Tomahawks closed out the regular season Saturday night with a 6-1 win over the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks.

The Tomahawks came up big in the 1st period with goals going to Egan Schmitt and Johnny Ulicny in the earlier stages. Then with just 25 seconds left in the period, defenseman Mack Oliphant netted his first goal of the season to give the Tomahawks a 3-0 lead after the opening period.

Braedon Ford extended the lead ever further for the Tomahawks, making it 4-0 just 2:22 into the 2nd. Jacob Badal got involved in the scoring Saturday night as well, with his 21st of the season giving Johnstown a 5-0 lead to come out for the 3rd period.

Danbury’s Gabe Dombrowski solved Matt O’Donnell in the 3rd period, putting the Hat Tricks on the board, followed shortly after by Ford getting his second of the game, making it a 6-1 lead for the Tomahawks, which went on to be the final score.
