5 Minute Major: Mike Sandor

Oct 31, 2012

For this week’s edition of “5 Minute Major,” we send Mike Sandor to the penalty box to answer five questions. The Vancouver native joined the team in early October and played his first game in a Tomahawks sweater on 10/12 vs. Soo.

Q: Can you tell us more about growing up in Vancouver, B.C.?

A: Growing up in Vancouver was pretty cool. The city has everything you could ask for, from the beautiful mountains and scenery to the big city life. It was a great place to grow up. Having the Canucks as my hometown team is what made me want to play hockey.

Q: Who is your favorite professional hockey player and why?

A: Anze Kopitar. He is skilled, and he has great style and great flow.

Q: If you weren’t playing hockey, what profession do you think you would like to have?

A:I would probably become a sports agent because I like being around the game and involved with all types of sports.

Q: What is your favorite thing about being part of a hockey team?

A: My favourite part is how close you become with all of the boys. It’s cool how we all come together to play a sport and become a family so fast. Being with the fellas is always a good time.

Q: Do you have any game-night routines or rituals?

A: The night before a game, my routine is fairly simple. I usually just have a big meal for dinner, relax, and watch Friday Night Lights or something else on TV.
