Don’t Call it a Comeback – Hawks Win 5-4

LEWISTON, Maine. – The Johnstown Tomahawks hit the ice in front of just over 1,300 fans attending the inaugural home opener of the Maine Nordiques. While Johnstown got on the board first, the Nordiques would go on to score 4 unanswered goals through the 1st and 2nd period.

Going into the third period with a 4-1 deficit, the Tomahawks dug deep to score 4 of their own unanswered goals to fend off the Nordiques. Goaltender Blaine Moore picked up his first start and win of the young season.

Max Kouznetsov, who scored 2 goals in the contest, has the distinction of scoring the first NAHL regulation goal at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee, home of the Nordiques.

Looking Ahead

The Tomahawks will face off against the Maine Nordiques again on Saturday, October 5th, and hit the road for series against Maryland and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton over the next two weeks. Johnstown will return home later in October to take on the Northeast Generals on October 25th, 26th, and 27th.
