Tomahawks Sweep Jr. Hat Tricks

The Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks Saturday afternoon by a final score of 4-2 in Connecticut.

Egan Schmitt opened the scoring for the Tomahawks Saturday afternoon, netting his ninth goal of the season 4:19 into the game. Just 52 seconds later, Jake Black makes it a 2-0 game for the Tomahawks carrying the way with his division-leading 25th goal of the season.

Braedon Ford set the way in the 2nd period, giving the Tomahawks a 3-0 lead. Danbury’s Miles Harrington found the back of the net midway through the period, getting the Jr. Hat Tricks on the board. The Tomahawks responded though with a goal from David Matousek with 1:10 remaining in the period, sending the game to the 3rd period with the Tomahawks up by a score of 4-1.

Danbury made it a two-goal game early in the 3rd with Luka Sukovic scoring 3:37 in. The Tomahawks were held off the scoreboard in the final period, but came away with a 4-2 win and a weekend sweep over the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks. Netminder Dom Wasik made 26 saves in his Tomahawks debut.
