TOMAHAWKS VS HAT TRICKS WEEKEND PREVIEW

The Johnstown Tomahawks will open the 2025-2026 NAHL regular season this Friday, September 12, and Saturday, September 13, in Danbury, CT, against the Danbury Hat Tricks. Puck drop for both games will be at 7:00PM and can be streamed on NATV. 

A LOOK BACK AT LAST SEASON

Last season the East Division foes squared off six times and the Tomahawks comfortably captured the season series, winning four of the six games (4-2) while Danbury was the reciprocal (2-4). 

The first of the six season matchups took place in the middle of December and was actually the start of a string of four straight games in Johnstown over 14 days on the schedule versus the Hat Tricks. 

December 13th | 1st SUMMIT ARENA

 The Hat Tricks came out firing in their first visit to Johnstown of the season. Danbury scored early in the first period and didn’t look back, capturing the 4-1 victory.

December 14th | 1st SUMMIT ARENA

The Tomahawks responded with a strong 7-3 win. Anytime 10 goals are scored at 1st Summit Arena, it’s always an exciting night, especially if the Tomahawks come out on top. 

December 20th | 1st SUMMIT ARENA

Keeping the momentum rolling just six days later, the Tomahawks stymied the Hat Tricks to earn their second straight victory by a score of 3-1. 

December 21st | 1st SUMMIT ARENA

Danbury answers back with a crowd silencer, scoring six on Tomahawks ice for the 6-1 victory to even the season series after four games at 2-2. 

March 14th | Danbury Ice Arena

The Tomahawks went into Danbury for the first time and handled business, capturing the 4-2 victory. 

March 15th | Danbury Ice Arena

The first shutout in the season series went to the Tomahawks as they wrapped it up with the 2-0 victory. 

2025-2026 KEYS TO THE MATCHUP

  • Tomahawks first year Head Coach Adam Houli begins his tenure with new team captain Nick Jarmain as they look to bring the first Robertson Cup to Johnstown. 
  • Danbury brings second year Head Coach Lenny Caglionone into the season looking to improve on their 8th place finish in the East Division last season.
  • The Tomahawks will enter the season with just six returning players
