Briere Leads Tomahawks To 3-2 Win

Johnstown, Pa – The Johnstown Tomahawks beat division leading Philadelphia Rebels on Friday night, 3-2.
The Philadelphia Rebels took the 1-0 lead 8:51 into the game. Aaron Maguyon slid a puck past Johnstown netminder, Kade Phipps, for his eleventh of the season. The lone assist went to Ryan Patrick.
It looked like the Rebels would go into the intermission with the lead, but Johnstown found a way to tie the game with only two-seconds left in the period. Mitchell Hale netted is eight of the season with the assists going to Andrew Quetell and Ben Schmidling.
After one period of play the score was tied at one.
In the second period, the Rebels scored the lone goal of the period. Midway through the period, at 9:54, Carson Moniz scored his fifth goal of the season. The assists went to Seth Bergeron and Auggie Moore.
This gave Philadelphia the lead after two periods of play, 2-1.
In the third, Johnstown retied the game, 2-2, off a Carson Briere shot. The assists went to Joey Baez and Christian Gorscak at 3:26.
Johnstown then took the lead when Christian Gorscak scored his fourth goal of the season. The assist went to Carson Briere at 9:31.
This would be enough as Phipps was solid the rest of the way giving Johnstown the 3-2 win over the Rebels.
