Brière Nets Star of the Week Award

JOHNSTOWN – After earning five points (two goals, three assists) during a weekend sweep of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, forward Carson Brière has been awarded the Bauer East Division Star of the Week honor for the week ending Nov. 4, 2018.
This is the second consecutive week a Tomahawks players has earned the distinction of Star of the Week. Sam Solensky received that honor previously.
The Philadelphia native assisted on two goals in a 5-1 Tomahawks victory over the Knights on Thursday, Nov. 1.
The following night, Brière was the catalyst in a 5-4 comeback win over the Knights. Brière scored two goals in the third period, including the game winner, and assisted on a goal.
“It’s great to see Carson recognized as a Star of the Week,” head coach Mike Letizia said. “He came through big for us this weekend especially in crunch time, which is one of his biggest attributes in that he has the ability to perform when he needs to be clutch. He has emerged as a dynamic offensive player that continues to improve day in and day out because of his competitive drive. It has been fun to watch his overall game grow since he came to Johnstown, and we look forward to more to come from him.”
The Tomahawks faceoff against the Jamestown Rebels in a Wednesday night showdown at Northwest Arena in Jamestown, NY. Faceoff is set for 7:05 p.m.
Johnstown is back on home ice Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9-10 for Military Appreciation Weekend against the Maryland Black Bears. All active duty and veterans may receive a free ticket at the gate with presentation of a valid Military ID.
