Bruce Earns Consecutive Star of the Week Nod

JOHNSTOWN -The Johnstown Tomahawks and the North American Hockey League announced today that for the second consecutive week forward Nick Bruce was named the Bauer East Division Star of the Week (week ending January 29, 2017).
Bruce had five points (three goals, two assists) in two home games against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights as Johnstown took home three of four points.
“We fell just short of picking up another 4 point weekend against a strong divisional opponent, but right in the thick of the team’s success again was Nick Bruce,” head coach Mike Letizia said. “He has been playing outstanding hockey for us, and is beginning to round into a premier forward. The puck has seemed to find him on a nightly basis and when he has it on his stick good things are happening with it for him and his teammates. It has also been the timing in games that he has produced that has been a key to our team’s success. Nick is such a responsible 200 foot hockey player that we rely on in all situations, and maybe what I am so proud of is that in addition to what he has been able to produce for himself, has been the ability he has shown to help the other players around him find success as well. Two weeks in a row as player of the week in this division is not an easy feat, and I could not be happier for him.”
The Tomahawks host the Northeast Generals February 2-4 for a three game home series. Thursday, Feb. 2, the Tomahawks and the Johnstown Chamber of Commerce host BOGO as Chamber members can redeem BOGO ticket offers for the game.

Friday the team hosts college Night at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday, the team concludes the series with Northeast during 7s Night. The Tomahawks will play 70s era music during the game. For tickets, please visit, call 1-800-745-3000 or visit the War Memorial Box Office.
