Feb 11, 2019

JOHNSTOWN – After a record-breaking performance against Maryland, forward Carson Brière has been named the Bauer East Division Star of the Week by the North American Hockey League.
This is the third time Brière has earned this distrinction and it is the second consecutive week a Tomahawks player has been Star of the Week. (Goalie Carter McPhail earned the honor last week.)
The Philadelphia native compiled eight points (five goals, three assists) including a four-goal performance against the Black Bears on Sunday, Feb. 10. He additionally picked up three points (one goal, two assists) in Friday’s 8-2 win and an assist in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Maryland.
“Carson had a heck of a weekend playing a major factor in 3 wins for our team,” head coach Mike Letizia said. “His ability to find different ways to produce all year, especially in clutch situations, has been very impressive. Sunday, he had a special game scoring 4 goals, including one of the nicest individual efforts we’ve seen all year on the game winning goal. He continues to provide us with high end production and contributions to team success which will hopefully bring him to a much deserved NCAA commitment.”
Johnstown hits the road for a Wednesday morning showdown at Jamestown on Feb. 13 at 11 a.m.
