Carson Gallagher Commits to Sacred Heart

Oct 30, 2019

JOHNSTOWN, Penn. – Johnstown Tomahawks forward, Carson Gallagher, has announced his commitment to Sacred Heart University, located in Bridgeport Connecticut. Gallagher has become the 6th active Tomahawk to make a DI commitment.

Through the young season, the Courtice, Ontario native has made a significant impact both on and off the ice. A locker room leader, Gallagher was named an Assistant Captain in late September. He quickly endeared himself to fans and became a staple in the high powered Tomahawks offense.

To date, Gallagher has 17 points from 10 goals and 7 assists, giving him a 1.00 points per game average. Carson is the current team leader in goals scored, and ranks 3rd in the NAHL. Two of his goals have been game winners, both coming on the road against the Maine Nordiques and Maryland Black Bears.

When Carson chose to come to Johnstown, we knew he had the opportunity to contribute to our team offensively, but he has done that and so much more. His work ethic, energy, and leadership have been contagious. He has had an infectious positive impact on our team on and off the ice.

After a very strong start to the season, it made sense that he was a coveted Divsion I prospect, and I am very proud of him on his commitment ot Sacred Heart University. He is fully deserving of the opportunity, and I couldn’t be happier for him. I look forward to seeing how his game continues to grow for us, and we will surely be counting on him to continue to be a big part of our team moving forward.

Mike Letizia, Head Coach of the Johnstown Tomahawks
