Eight-Point Weekend Secures Brière Star of the Week Honor

Dec 18, 2018

JOHNSTOWN – After an eight-point weekend, reigning Forward of the Month, Carson Brière, secured the North American Hockey League’s East Division Star of the Week honor for the week ending Dec. 16, 2018.
This is the second time Brière was named the East Division Star of the Week during the 2018-19 season.
The Philadelphia native scored three goals and chipped in five helpers in a crucial weekend sweep of the New Jersey Titans before the team skated into the holiday break.
On Friday, Dec. 14, Brière netted two goals and three assists in a 7-3 victory over the Titans. He also earned a plus/minus rating of plus-four.
The following night, Brière scored a goal and assisted on two others in a wild 6-4 comeback win.
Additionally, he tallied two powerplay goals, moving his NAHL-best season total to 16 goals scored on the man advantage.
“Carson has been a consistent contributor to our offense all season long and this week was no exception with eight points in two games,” head coach Mike Letizia said. “He was dangerous every time he was on the ice with or without the puck. He had extra drive in his game and as usual was in the thick of the most important moments of the game.”
“Going into Christmas break, it was imperative for our team to be successful and Carson had a huge hand in helping us do so.”
